After ElfQuest: Kings of the Broken Wheel series, the Palace of The High-Ones has ceased to exist in its gargantuan form. Instead, only a miniature replica exists in Savah's house in Sorrow's End.The renegade Kahvi has seduced Tyldak and this bat-elf escorts her wherever she wants to go. While travelling, she is assailed by one of her former Go-Backs tribemates who failed to recognise her. The elf is pinned down and speaks with Kahvi, eventually leading her back to her tribe, who asks to follow her once again. She leads them to Sun Villagers where she and Tyldak attempt to steal the miniature palace.Kavhi rides a giant fandor, and Windkin rescues the miniature palace after Tyldak has flown off with it in its talons. Yun and Chot temporarily vye for its possession, but Kahvi reclaims the palace, while in midair flight falls off her bird and through Savah's roof. She refuses to apologise but Sun Village reclaims custody of the palace. She and Tyldak refuse to pledge loyalty, and are imprisoned in the Preservers sticky cocoon.
